The first time the term Black Friday was used was in 1961 in Philadelphia. Back then it was originated from the large amount of vehicles and pedestrians in the streets on the day after Thanksgiving. Which is often a day off for a lot of Americans.

Many years later the day after Thanksgiving is used by retailers to open up their stores early in the morning, offering a lot of their products on sale to sell as much of their stock as possible. Customers often buy presents for their family and loved ones for the upcoming december holidays.

Black Friday is not only a special day in the United States, but also in other parts of the world. Also in the United Kingdoma and Europe, the day is an important day for retailers, with steep discounts.
